Terms of Use
1. Publisher and purpose
The PixCollection app (mobile app and web version) is published by Aurélien Bailly, under the name Pixelosaure. Contact: pixcollection@pixelosaure.fr.
These terms set the rules for using the service. By creating an account, you accept them. How your personal data is handled is described in the privacy policy.
2. The service
PixCollection lets you, among other things:
- inventory your physical video games and machines, based on a shared catalog;
- identify them by barcode, photo, QR label or NFC tag;
- track their estimated value and generate an insurance file;
- take part in quests and the leaderboard, open your collection to others, and show what you offer for trade or are looking for (the “trading board”).
The service is currently free and ad-free. Paid features (in-app purchases or a subscription) may be offered: they will be sold through the app store (Google Play, App Store), under its payment terms. These terms will be supplemented before they go on sale (content, price, renewal, cancellation, right of withdrawal), and the price will always be shown before purchase.
3. Your account
- The service is for people aged 15 and over.
- You provide a valid email address and keep your password confidential. Any action taken from your account is deemed to be yours; tell us if you think someone else has used it.
- Your username is visible to other users (leaderboard, trading board, public collection). It must not impersonate a person or a brand, nor be abusive, hateful or unlawful. A username that breaks these rules may be changed or the account suspended.
- You can delete your account at any time from My space → Account → Delete my account.
4. Catalog, prices and insurance file
- The catalog is built from public databases and user contributions. It may contain errors or gaps; you can propose a missing entry or version from the app, or write to us.
- Prices and estimated values are indicative. They come from market sources, user input or a calculation, and are neither an appraisal nor an offer to buy.
- The insurance file gathers the information, photos and values that you entered. It helps you document your collection, but it is not an appraisal or a certification by the publisher, and it does not bind any insurer. You remain responsible for the accuracy of what you declare.
5. Your content and your contributions
- Your collection (items, notes, photos, invoices) belongs to you. We only use it to provide the service, and it is deleted with your account.
- Your contributions to the shared catalog (proposed entries or versions, barcodes, entered prices) serve all users. By sending them, you grant us, free of charge and worldwide, the non-exclusive right to use, correct and publish them in the catalog for as long as the service runs. They carry no account identifier and stay in place if you delete your account.
- Only contribute information you believe to be accurate, and no content you have no right to share. A contribution may be corrected, rejected or removed.
6. Trading board and dealings between collectors
The trading board only shows what collectors offer for trade or are looking for. It has no prices, no payments and no messaging. No trade or sale is concluded through the app: if you get in touch with another collector by other means, the publisher is not a party to your arrangements and vouches neither for the item, its condition, nor the person. Only mark as “for trade” items you actually own.
7. What is not allowed
- Circumventing the service's protections or accessing another account's data, or attempting to.
- Extracting the catalog or the service's data by automated means, or deliberately overloading the servers.
- Using the service for unlawful purposes, or to mislead other users (fake trade offers, fake contributions).
In case of a breach, we may remove content or suspend the account concerned, after warning you where possible.
8. Intellectual property
- The app, its code, name, logo and design belong to the publisher.
- Game, console and brand names, and box art, belong to their respective owners and are shown only to identify the items in a collection. PixCollection is not affiliated with any console maker or video game publisher.
- Machine photos from Wikimedia Commons are published under their original licence; their author and licence are shown under the image.
If you believe some content infringes your rights, write to us: we will remove it where appropriate.
9. Availability and liability
- The service is provided as is. We do our best to keep it available and your data safe, but cannot guarantee it will be free of interruptions or errors. The service, or some features, may change or end; in case of a permanent shutdown, you will be warned in advance so you can export your collection.
- We recommend keeping your own exports (PDF insurance file) and the originals of your invoices.
- To the extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for decisions made on the basis of a price or catalog entry, nor for trades concluded between users. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have by law as a consumer.
10. Changes
These terms may change. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page; in case of a significant change, we will inform you in the app. If you do not accept the new terms, you can delete your account.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. If a problem arises, please first write to pixcollection@pixelosaure.fr so we can look for an amicable solution. Failing that, the dispute falls under the competent courts; if you are a consumer, you keep the protections of the country where you live.
